Did you know that all coffee machines must have a valid boiler certificate? The Health & Safety Act of 1974 requires that all work equipment must comply with existing statutory workplace legislation. In order to adhere to this, your coffee machine’s boiler requires a periodic examination from a qualified boiler technician. This boiler inspection is a requirement of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulation of 2000, and needs to be carried out in accordance with a: “...written scheme of examination.” By law, if you don’t have any evidence of an up to date certification handed out by an accredited technician, an environmental officer could order you to shut down your coffee machine immediately. Thankfully, we can offer this inspection onsite, and it can be carried out alongside your coffee machine’s regular servicing. Alternatively, we can meet your insurance inspector on site at a time to suit them, or you can arrange through us the entire process– it's up to you.
We at Ineeda coffee believe filtration is the most important aspect in maintaining a coffee machine. Ensuring it works at its maximum potential will leave you with great tasting coffee to be proud of. Good water filtration is essential in any coffee machine, as the mineral content of the water will define the flavour of the coffee. We carry out water hardness tests, and adjustments can be provided within our maintenance packages to keep the coffee tasting great. Replacing filters may be necessary after these tests, depending on the amount of water filtered and the hardness of the water in your area. Build-up of scale is a coffee machines worst enemy when it comes to reliability, performance and your annual boiler inspection. Maintaining good water filtration is one way to ensure a healthy machine that’s working to a high standard with a longer life. A boiler that is safe and reliable is essential to pass your annual boiler inspection too, so keeping your machine parts free of scale is vital for performance and safety in any business.
The quality of the water you use naturally affects the final product, as 98% of the drink is made from it. A careless attitude towards the water quality in your machine can result in some poor results, and our engineers take great care to avoid this when inspecting or servicing a machine. The water hardness test measures the level of minerals in the water you use in your machine. This is important because harder water (which is water with a higher mineral content) will cause scale to build up faster within your machine. Long-term, scale build-up is the number one reason for premature machine failure and bad tasting coffee. Depending on your machine and water usage, we will use the results of our tests to determine a specific filter schedule for you, to keep your machine running smoothly for longer.
Occasionally, some machines may require parts descaled, or are just in need of a second lease of life. We provide full descales and refurbishments at our workshop by our trained engineers who will provide you with an estimated quote on the work needed to bring your machine back to a safe and high standard. We descale machines on our site due to the hazardous chemicals used in this process. If required, we can loan a machine to you while we do so to ensure your business stays running. Do get in touch for more information about this and a personal quote for your business needs.
